And the second day of farewell to my fake film and literary friend Harry Potter marches on (check out the first one here)! Yesterday’s favorite HP moment was from the 7th and most recent movie. Today’s is from 2004’s Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (the 3rd movie in the series).
Necessary disclaimer: the third book and hence, movie, mayyyy be my favorite of the series so far. It was hard for me to pick an actual moment from this movie, as I think the whole thing is wonderful. I love Sirius Black and his relationship with Harry. What can I say, I’m a sucker for good things?
There are so many good parts here, but if I have to narrow it down, I’ll go with this one: when Harry saves Sirius from certain death-by Dementor, after realizing it wasn’t his (long dead) father that produced the stag patronus, but that he had done it himself. <– Yes, I’m aware there are a lot of HP jargon-y words in this sentence, but a dementor by a any other name…probably wouldn’t make any sense at all, either. So there’s that.
Honorable mention: When Harry learns that Sirius is his godfather and has invited Harry to live with him, thereby ending Harry’s terrible time with the Dursley’s.
What’s your favorite moment from Prisoner of Azkaban? I won’t blame you if you say the whole thing =)
Check back tomorrow for day 3 of my farewell to HP!
